Star Chamber was one of my favorite maps to work on on this project. Being the materials artist for this map and getting to work off of Catie Savages concepts and bring them to life was an amazing challenge. For more breakdowns, check out my other Star Chamber posts linked below.

Instead of using color maps, we used different gradient remapping techniques on the majority this map. We knew early on that we would need to build flexibility in our materials so that we could reuse and adapt existing content on the fly. Leaning into gradient remapping for colors and exporting our roughness maps at full range were some of the key ways we built in this adaptability.

My responsibilities were driving the overall look of materials, doing multiple passes of PBR validation, material performance metrics, and general cross and inner team collaboration during the production of Star Chamber.
